Things I Love Thursday: Shopping Local and Workout Support

Hey.

It's Thursday as you're reading this, but Wednesday as I'm typing.

Currently experiencing a personal low this evening...

I'm watching a show called "Save My Skin" on TLC while eating Dove chocolates that were intended for Teacher Appreciation Week gifts.

Nothing like freshening up on some keloid and fungal skin conditions while hijacking presents from the humans who keep my kids alive, loved, and educated thirty five hours a week.

Gosh, teachers. We love you so. We appreciate you more than ever before.

And I promise I am making this up to you tomorrow when I get something better and more amazing to replace these chocolates.

I just needed some comfort sugar while waiting to see if Jenny from Great Britain got rid of this keloid (that she named Jenny 2.0) once and for all.

Worst intro ever. They say to be relatable, but this might be too much.

On to the fun stuff.

Lots of things linked below in PINK

POWDER THAT HELPS ME NOT DIE DURING A WORKOUT

I've been on the prowl for a pre-workout that gives the needed boost this 40 year old bag o' bones desires without feeling like I've had five espressos through an IV.

Fast forward to Weston's soccer game a few weeks ago where I mentioned I was looking for such a product and my friend, Maricruz, mentioned that she sells this very thing.

Boom. Easy enough.

I remembered liking a single sample I tried a while back but allotted this week to giving the pre workout a consistent effort.

Three days in, and I can honestly say I have had more pep in my step. I know this to be true because my back has been bothering me a tish, which normally would take me completely down. This has been a needed boost for me to stay in the game, do what I can, keep moving, and do so with some energy.

Obviously as someone who thinks they need comfort sugar to get through a dermatology themed show, I'm not AS concerned with ingredients as some folks, but...it is non GMO, vegan, non dairy, non dairy for those who are better than me.

Single serve packets. Tastes good. Mix it up with 8oz of water or so, and take it down the shoot 20-30 min before you get your sweat on.

I'm a fan. Thank you, Cruz!

The pink link above takes you to the full product page. Just search "Rush."

And go get your swole on.

Oh yeah...

And the post workout is basically a replenishment of all the stuff I sweat out.

Not sure where you're from, but Spring got about 3 days of attention here, and we are now in full blown Summer temps. Foreal. I just let Nash out and broke a sweat. At 10:15pm. You can only imagine what morning exercise hour looks like for me. There's zero percent anything cute going on like glistening or sparkling.

My body needs some love after I workout.

"Recover" helps with hydration and muscle soreness.

Which for this chronically dehydrated, non-stretcher is a no brainer.

Search "Recover" from the PINK LINK above.

BACK TO THE BASICS

This is my mid life crisis flip flop.

Taking me all the way back to Cobb Dorm at UNC, stubbing my toes and tripping up all four flights of stairs to watch Dawson's Creek episodes in real time.

Because that's all we had.

I had the wide strap hemp ones and the skinny strap leather ones way back when.

These are the baby of my college flip flops.

Tahitian brown is the color.

And I love them.

Also, TEAM PACEY FOR LIIIIIIIFE!!!!!!

TRIED AND TRUE LEGGINGS

Boring picture.

But these are the Summer leggings you need if you're not a shorts workout person.

Thin enough that you're not hotboxing your own legs, but thick enough that they pass the bend-over, peek-a-boo see through test.

If I wear anything other than these to the gym, it means it's laundry day.

FLATTERING SWIMSUIT

I have it in three colors. Flattering. Cozy. True to size. Whatever that means when it comes to swimwear.

Suns out, buns don't have to be in this suit. It's normal.

CASSANDRA'S KITCHEN

Some days you're standing in line waiting for your son to finish his baseball evaluations but end up leaving with a new friend!

This happened pre-Covid when I met Cassandra. New to our town and to me, I had to ask allllll the questions and quickly learned that in addition to being a super fun mom of three, Cassandra co-owns and operates her own business, "Cassandra's Kitchen," which sells fan favorite Barefoot Contessa kitchen products "all in one space!"

If you're like me and have spent multiple hours watching Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) on Food Network, you'll be geeked out to learn how Cassandra and Ina are connected HERE

You know what I love almost as much as a good story?

A good store.

Yes, Blufftonians, there's a new storefront in town.

Yesterday I popped in to check out Cassandra's new digs and picked up a few items you might just make me feel a little more Ina and a little less McDonald's drive thru.

Isn't her storefront cute!?!?!

ONE SIZE LID CONTAINERS

Cassandra wasted no time pointing me to these containers when I asked about her Must-Haves.

Listen up, y'all.

Multiple size containers.

ONE SIZE LIDS.

Not being able to find the correct size container lid is similar to your shirt catching on a door knob.

It only happens on a terrible day.

Life is short. Get the sensible containers.

INDESTRUCTIBLE PLACE MATS

If you've eaten with my crew then you know why I went with the adjective "indestructible."

Cute. Match my kitchen. Wipe 'em down, and move on with your life.

Locals, pay Cassandra's Kitchen a visit!

(Off of Red Cedar, next to Lot 9 Brewery on the BACK side of the building)

Nonlocals, check out her website.

And to everyone, for sure get the containers.

BODY WASH FOR WHEN YOU OVERDO IT AT THE GYM OR JUST BEND OVER OR SOMETHING DUMB LIKE THAT

It is what it is, folks.

Happiest of Thursdays, party people.

Whatcha lovin' today?

(Update: So far so good on the keloid show. The trick was making sure ALLL of it was removed on the inside AND stitching the skin back to where it didn't tug and potentially create more scar tissue.)
